I am pleased to welcome you to this reorganized homepage.

The 21st century is the era of knowledge and information, and experiences rapid globalization. In this century, women's quality and capability is utilized to deal with new political issues, such as environment, peace, information and poverty. Particularly, the expansion of women's political participation is an international tendency, and women's political representation has become an important index that signifies the level of political culture and women's status in a society.
However, Korea has had very low women's political representation. It is a reality that Korean women have been either the passive recipients of politics or located in the periphery of politics.
Now, we need to convert politics into a new paradigm, that is 'politics of daily life' or 'politics of people's participation'. We should abolish the male-dominated, authoritarian and closed political culture, and change it into a new politics which is serving for people, transparent and clean, based on love and sacrifice.
At this point, women's leadership is requested. The expansion of women's political representation will correct the inequality and imbalance of our society, and become a shortcut to lead the politics of conflict and disruption into the politics of tolerance and harmony. Therefore, women ourselves should participate in not only voting but also the decision-making process as the political subjects.
It would be possible to realize true democracy when every member of a society equally participates in the political and decision-making process, and owns a sense of participation to share responsibilities.

In order to increase women's political participation and develop a democratic politics, KIWP will endeavor to awaken women to a sense of women voters, to develop diverse women's policies and training programs, to search for women candidates, and to support their election campaigns.

You are always welcome to visit to our homepage and give us your precious opinions about the development of democratic politics. Moreover, we kindly ask your endless concern and support for women's political empowerment.

Thank you very much.
